My life has been full of experiences that have formed a strong foundation for the ministry skills and knowledge that I have encountered during my seminary training. My undergraduate degree in Women and Gender studies has given me a deep understanding of systems of oppression and also of how those systems can be transformed into life-affirming ways of living and working together. In addition, I have held leadership roles in a wide variety of contexts, and gained work and managerial experience in several business settings. In addition, raising a large family taught me a lot about time management, prioritizing, and working with people in ways that promote individual and group health and right relations. For a more detailed look at my background, please see my resume here.
My seminary required a two-year, half-time internship at a UU church, under supervision of a pastor in Final Fellowship. I am deepening and broadening the skills and experience I gained during my UU internship by working at a half-time internship at the local Decorah Congregational UCC church. I have had a wealth of experience in creating and participating in Worship, Lifespan Faith Formation, Pastoral Care, and Church Administration.
