My theology has grown and changed throughout my life. I was so glad to find a faith community that acknowledges, supports, and encourages ongoing spiritual exploration and growth.

I embrace ideas and metaphors from a variety of liberal religious sources. I feel more and more keenly the fact that I am kin to everything that is, for all is literally made of stardust. I also am aware of the existence of so much that I cannot, in this finite body and mind, really understand. For me, this concept of being part of a larger, not fully understood Whole is what I think of as Divinity. When the light in me sees and respects/nurtures/works with the light in other beings or natural systems, that is Divine love in action.

I articulate my concept of Divinity in a variety of ways: Spirit of Life, Universe, Gaia, Mystery, God. Each of these expresses part of the Whole in ways that allow me to access wisdom, love, beauty, solace, and grace in my life, my work, my relationships. It is my goal as a minister to nurture others in their unique, individual understandings and paths to wholeness. This wholeness includes our embodied selves, our scientific knowledge, our relationships, our dark sides and gifts and potentials, logic and emotion – a lifelong journey of discovery and learning to live lives of joy, love, humility and service.
